Penangguhan Istiadat Konvokesyen UM Ke-60 (22 – 29 Mei 2021)

Dengan rasa dukacita, Jawatankuasa Induk Istiadat Konvokesyen Universiti Malaya dengan berat hati ingin  memaklumkan bahawa Istiadat Konvokesyen ke-60 yang dijadualkan pada 22 hingga 29 Mei 2021 terpaksa ditangguhkan berikutan peningkatan kes COVID-19 secara mendadak dalam negara pada masa kini.  Keputusan yang sukar ini dibuat setelah mengambil kira semua faktor risiko dan penilaian komprehensif keselamatan dan kesejahteraan graduan serta warga Universiti.  

Pihak Universiti memahami serta prihatin bahawa pemakluman ini adalah sukar bagi para graduan yang telah membuat persiapan dan perancangan untuk meraikan detik pencapaian dalam istiadat konvokesyen kali ini. Universiti Malaya memohon maaf atas kesulitan yang timbul akibat daripada penangguhan ini dan menghargai jasa baik serta kerjasama yang diberikan oleh semua pihak yang terlibat dalam perkara ini.

Makluman terkini kepada graduan berhubung Istiadat Konvokesyen ke-60 akan dikeluarkan melalui laman web rasmi: umconvo.um.edu.my. dari semasa ke semasa.

DEFERMENT OF 60th UNIVERSITI MALAYA CONVOCATION CEREMONY
(22 – 29 MAY 2021)

It is with a heavy heart to inform that the Universiti Malaya Convocation Ceremony Main Committee has decided to defer our 60th Convocation Ceremony which is originally scheduled to take place on 22-29 May 2021, in view of the recent spike and the sudden increase in new COVID-19 cases in the country. Certainly, it is not an easy decision to make and this step is taken after a thorough and comprehensive review on all factors and assessments, taking into account the interest of the safety and well-being of our graduands and the university community.

We understand that this announcement will be hard on our graduands who are looking forward to this ceremony in celebrating their significant achievements and we express our shared regret for those who have made the necessary arrangements and preparations in anticipation of this event. We sincerely apologise to those affected and it is our hope that all may understand that this decision is taken in the best interest of all parties.

The latest information for the graduands regarding the 60th Convocation Ceremony will be updated from time to time through the official website: umconvo.um.edu.my.
